Brief Introduction

Working with the wider Institute of Earth Environment scientific community and partners worldwide, the environmental magnetism research group undertakes researches into the magnetic properties of sediments and rocks. This is generally done with the purpose of deciphering the evolution, behavior and cause of the ancient geomagnetic field and paleoclimate, and to aid in geological research.

Research interests:

1.     Magnetostraphy and paleomagnetism of Cenozoic sediments in China.

2.     The evolution of Tibetan uplift and Asian climate change during the Cenozoic

3.     The evolution and dynamic mechanisms of Asian monsoon-arid environment

4.     Hominid chronology and paleoenvironments in China

5.     The application of Environmental magnetism to pollution monitoring.
