Title:Combining Detrital Thermochronology and Cosmogenic Nuclide Dating to Understand the Erosional History of Active Mountain Belts
Reporter: Dr. Nathan Niemi Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Michigan
Site:Meeting room 207

Nathan Niemi's research interests are in continental deformation, with an emphasis on actively deforming tectonic systems. Detailed field mapping, thermochronology, neotectonic studies, and GPS geodesy are some of the methods he applies to compare how crustal deformation is accommodated during orogenesis over a wide range of timescales, from decades to tens of millions of years.
