Summer Institute in China for U.S. Graduate Students in Science and Engineering, sponsored by The Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Natinal Natural Science Foundation of China and National Science Foundation,United States, will be excuted from Jun 14, 2010 to Aug 8, 2010. This project is targeted to schedule and aid 40 U.S. graduate students to visit and study at Chinese colleges, institues and labs during this summer for about 8 weeks. It's expected to unerstand each other and build better relationship and cooperation on study between the youth both in China and U.S. by the institute.
As one of the Summer Institute visitors, Meiling Gao, a current PHD. student at University of California, Berkeley, will study at Dust and Environment Division, Institute of Earth Environment. Dr. Gao will be conducted by prof. Cao for the topic of emissions, transport, and health impact assessment of black carbon in China, and will have academic communication with other students and teachers in our institute。
